Shepherd took a brilliant hat-trick
Shepherd started his hat-trick with the last ball of the 17th over. He dismissed Nurul Hasan for 1 run. Then in the last over he completed the hat-trick by dismissing Tanjeed Hasan for 89 runs and Shoriful Islam for 0 runs. Taskin Ahmed was run out on the last ball of this over and Bangladesh’s innings ended. At one point in the match, Bangladesh was at 107/2, but Sheppard’s explosive bowling saved his team from a big loss.
With this feat Shepherd joined Jason Holder as the first West Indies bowler to take a T20I hat-trick against England in 2022. Shepherd made his T20I debut in 2020 and has taken 71 wickets in 66 matches so far. His average is 27.71 and economy rate is 9.98. His record also includes one match in which he took four wickets.
This achievement of Romario Shepherd is big for his career. He is slowly approaching the total of 200 T20 wickets. This hat-trick of his will be memorable in the history of West Indies cricket.
