Indian cricket team star Shreyas Iyer is undergoing treatment in Australia due to injury. Iyer fell after being caught by Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey in the third ODI match played at the Sydney Cricket Ground. His spleen was injured in this accident, after which he was admitted to the hospital. However, now a big good news has come out about Shreyas Iyer. He has been discharged from the hospital. BCCI has shared a big update on Iyer.
Shreyas Iyer was admitted in the hospital since October 25.
In fact, the seriousness of the injury became known during the match itself and the medical team immediately decided to take him to the hospital. Initially he was also kept in ICU. The BCCI medical team along with experts from Sydney and India treated Shreyas. At present his condition is stable and he is recovering rapidly.While sharing the update on Iyer, BCCI said, 'Shreyas Iyer suffered a serious stomach injury while fielding in the third ODI match against Australia on 25 October 2025, due to which he got injured in his spleen and started internal bleeding.
The injury was immediately identified and after a minor operation the bleeding was immediately stopped. For this he has been given proper medical treatment. Now his condition is stable and he is recovering well. The BCCI medical team, along with experts from Sydney and India, are happy with the improvement in his health and he has been discharged from the hospital today.BCCI further said in the press release, 'BCCI expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kouroush Haghighi and his team in Sydney as well as Dr.
Dinshaw Pardiwala in India, who ensured that Shreyas received good treatment for his injury. Shreyas will remain in Sydney for further consultation and will return to India once he is fit to fly. That means Iyer is going to stay in Australia for the next few days. He will fly to India only after he is completely fit.
