Nicholas Pooran shared the best piece of advice he received from veteran cricketer MS Dhoni. He mentioned that he always makes it a point to have conversations with the legend and revealed that Dhoni advised him to make up for it in the back end of the game.

In an exclusive interaction with CricTracker, Pooran also revealed that Dhoni has shared many insights with him over time, and while others may have told him similar things, he finds those same words far more valuable when they come from Dhoni.

There have been multiple instances when you were snapped with MS Dhoni taking advice. What’s the best piece of advice you received from him?

I remember him telling me after a game, I always try to have a conversation with him. Because I know he's busy, even if it's off-field. And he was always telling me, I have to do it my way. I have to invest in myself. I have to take some time, understand the conditions. Spend some time at the crease because of the fact that I have the ability to make up in the back end of a game. 

There are a lot of different things we would have chatted about as well. But that advice has been really crucial to me. I know a lot of other people would have told me the same thing as well. They would have told me different things. But again, hearing it from MS, because he believed that rule, which is a similar rule to me, it's something that you have to remember and do. Because if someone else can get success from it, then it could happen for me as well.
