14-member squad announced against West Indies, MI player becomes captain, two CSK players get a chance

West Indies: These days a five-match T20 series is being played between India and Australia, the fourth match of which is to be played on November 6 in Gold Coast. Amidst all this, the board has announced a 14-member squad for the upcoming T20 series against West Indies.

In which the command of the team has been handed over to a player from Mumbai Indians. Apart from this, two players playing for Chennai Super Kings have also been given a place in the team.

Actually, New Zealand Cricket Board has announced its team for the upcoming 5-match T20 series against West Indies. From the point of view of T20 World Cup 2026, this series is considered very important for both the teams. After the retirement of former New Zealand captain and veteran batsman Kane Williamson from this format, the board has handed over the responsibility of captaincy to star all-rounder Mitchell Santner, who played for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. In this series against West Indies, Santner will be seen leading the team with new responsibilities.

These two players of CSK got a chance

Two key players of Chennai Super Kings, Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra, have also been included in the squad announced by the New Zealand Cricket Board for the upcoming five-match T20 series against West Indies. Both these players have been part of CSK in IPL 2025. Both these players had performed brilliantly while playing for CSK in the IPL, and now they have got a chance to prove themselves for their country in the T20 format.

These two players returned

Due to Kane Williamson’s retirement from T20 International, Kyle Jamieson and Ish Sodhi have returned to the squad. Let us tell you, Jamieson was out of the team for a long time due to his injury, while Sodhi did not get a chance in the last few series. Now both the players are ready to make a comeback against West Indies. Apart from this, Darryl Mitchell, Jimmy Nashim, Mark Chapman, Michael Bracewell, Tim Seifert, Tim Robbins, Jack Foulkes and Nathan Smith have also been included in the squad of the Kiwi team.
