The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) celebrated India’s historic victory at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 with a stunning tribute at the iconic Eden Gardens. The stadium’s façade came alive with vibrant blue illumination and larger-than-life visuals of the victorious Indian team, turning the landmark into a glowing symbol of national pride.
The dazzling display drew admiration from cricket lovers across Kolkata, capturing the spirit of triumph and honouring the women who brought immense glory to the nation.
Speaking on the occasion, former India captain and CAB President Sourav Ganguly said, “As the home of cricket in Bengal, we wanted to celebrate their success and express our heartfelt congratulations through this special tribute. Twenty years ago, women’s cricket lacked infrastructure and recognition. Kudos to all those who fought to take it to this level. When I became BCCI President, I focused on strengthening its foundation. Winning the 50-over World Cup is just the beginning — women’s cricket will go even bigger from here.”
The initiative reaffirmed CAB’s commitment to promoting women’s cricket and supporting the next generation of players who continue to redefine the game’s legacy in India.
