One lakh 60 thousand rupees deposited in wrong bank account through RTGS, amount returned from Hyderabad

Dhamtari, 5 November (Read). While purchasing a tractor, a farmer’s amount of Rs 1 lakh 60 thousand was sent to the wrong RTGS number at the time of payment. Troubled by this, the farmer informed the police about the incident. Taking this seriously, the district police investigated the unknown number and found that it was a bank account of a person from Hyderabad. After contacting it through the bank, the police administration returned the amount to the concerned farmer’s account, and the farmer’s face lit up. The farmer has thanked the SP and Dhamtari police today.

According to the information received from the police on Wednesday, Ghanshyam Rajpuria, 45 years old, son of late Arjun Singh Rajpuria, resident of village Nawangaon Kandel, police station Arjuni of Dhamtari district, met SP Suraj Singh Parihar and expressed his pain. Farmer Ghanshyam Rajpuriya told that after paying the amount in cash after purchasing the tractor, he had accidentally transferred Rs 1 lakh 60 thousand to the wrong account through RTGS. He was very upset by this. After hearing their problem, investigation started on the instructions of SP Suraj Singh Parihar. During investigation, the police found that the applicant had purchased a new tractor from Eicher tractor dealer Sahu Agro Kurud in January 2025. Out of the total price of the tractor, Rs 7 lakh 50 thousand, Rs 5 lakh 50,000 was paid in cash. Whereas out of the remaining two lakh rupees, an amount of Rs 1 lakh 60 thousand was transferred through RTGS on June 12, 2025. Due to wrong number being entered, this amount went to the wrong account unknowingly.

Refund of amount from Hyderabad

The police took action on the complaint on priority. After obtaining the account details to the bank, it was found that this account belongs to Rajendra Reddy Maram, resident of Miyapur, Hyderabad (Telangana). The account holder was informed about the situation by establishing contact through Canara Bank. The account holder fully cooperated and returned the entire amount of Rs 1 lakh 60 thousand to the applicant’s account on October 4, 2025. The farmer thanked the SP and Dhamtari Police for basically getting the money back in his account.
