Delhi: Former Indian cricketer and coach Abhishek Nair has praised Shivam Dubey’s excellent performance in the ongoing T20 series against Australia. Nair says that Dubey has filled the team well in place of injured Hardik Pandya.

Hardik Pandya is out of the field due to left leg injury before the final of Asia Cup 2025. In his absence, Shivam Dubey has played an important role for the team. He has bowled the necessary overs in bowling and scored useful runs in batting.

Abhishek Nair praised Shivam Dubey

Abhishek Nair said, “We always say that Hardik Hardik Pandya is the essential all-rounder for India, but Shivam Dubey has proved in every match that he can also contribute to the team in the same way. He bowls important overs, takes wickets and scores runs in different situations.”

Nair further said, “He took two important wickets at a time when Australia was scoring quickly. Whenever the team management has trusted him, he has performed beyond expectations. Even though he is not called the ‘main all-rounder’, he does everything that is expected from an Indian all-rounder.”

In the fourth T20, Shivam Dubey scored 22 runs in 18 balls and then took the wickets of Mitchell Marsh and Tim David to put Team India in a strong position in the match. He gave only 20 runs in two overs. Earlier in the Asia Cup final also, he had bowled an economical spell with the new ball and gave only 23 runs in 3 overs. After this, he played an important role in India winning the title by scoring 33 runs in 22 balls.
