Ranji Trophy 2025: Both the sons of Team India's former star opener Virender Sehwag are slowly making their mark on the cricket field. However, both are still yet to enter senior cricket. But Sehwag's nephew is definitely showing his strength. Spinner Mayank Dagar, playing for Himachal Pradesh, did something similar against Mumbai, the most successful team of Ranji Trophy. In the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season match, Mayank bowled brilliantly against Mumbai and took maximum 4 wickets and during this time took two most important wickets.

Centurion batsmen were killed

In this match being played at BKC ground in Mumbai, Himachal Pradesh off-spinner Mayank played an important role in restricting Mumbai to 446 runs. Mumbai did not have a good start in the first innings and lost 4 wickets for only 73 runs. After this, there was a partnership of more than 150 runs between Musheer Khan and Siddhesh Lad, which made a comeback for Mumbai and pushed Himachal on the back foot. But Mayank Dagar's magic started from here.

28 year old Mayank gave a big relief to his team by bowling Musheer Khan. Musheer played an excellent inning of 112 runs. But after this, Siddhesh Lad along with other batsmen took the team closer to 350 runs and himself scored a strong century. Once again Mayank gave the important success by dismissing Lad. Siddhesh Lad played a big inning of 127 runs.

All the top scorers became victims of Mayank

Himachal's troubles were still not over and Shams Mulani (69) was becoming a problem for them but then Mayank Dagar ended Mulani's innings by trapping him in the net of his spin. Tushar Deshpande became Mayank's last victim, who came at number 10 and made an important contribution of 38 runs. In this way, Mayank himself sent back the four batsmen who scored the most runs in Mumbai's innings to the pavilion. Also took 4 wickets in an innings for the 7th time in his first class career.
