The IPL 2026 trade window has been expecting one of the most sensational deals in history, with the talks between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) for the Samson-Jadeja trade have been flooded on social media.

The swap between Ravindra Jadeja and Sanju Samson, considered as biggest trade in IPL, has entered a serious negotiation between the franchises ahead of the IPL 2026 auction.

Both players are among the highest-paid players in the IPL, with each earning 18 crore. Despite being considered an equal swap, the scenes are much more complicated, and the deal might not materialise if CSK refuses to agree to Rajasthan Royals’ terms.

The Rajasthan Royals are open to the idea of parting ways with their longtime superstar Sanju Samson, but they are not willing to do so in a straight one-for-one deal with the Chennai Super Kings.

The RR team management wants another player from CSK as part of the exchange, and that demand has now become the major roadblock in finalising the deal.

Rajasthan Royals have also set their eyes on Dewald Brevis, who joined CSK midway through the IPL 2025 season.

Dewald Brevis has been nothing less than extraordinary and has been one of the most talked-about young batters across franchise leagues.

His explosive hitting and fearless attitude have made him a top target for several teams. He even drew a record bid from Pretoria Capitals in the SA20 auction earlier this year, where Joburg Super Kings backed out at the final stage of bidding.

However, the Chennai Super Kings are not ready to let go of Brevis, especially after investing in his development. According to reports, CSK is persistent over the deal, Jadeja for Samson, without involving any other player.

Ravindra Jadeja has been with CSK since 2012 and has also served as the CSK captain in 2022, but stepped down midway after a poor season.

Jadeja started his IPL career with RR in 2008 and was suspended in 2010 by the IPL for negotiating a deal with the Mumbai Indians directly. He was part of the Kochi Tuskers in 2011 before coming to CSK in 2012.
