The opener John Campbell will be returning to the West Indies squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand starting on Sunday.
Meanwhile, fast bowler Johann Layne and bowling all-rounder Shamar Springer will receive their maiden call-ups to the ODI side, along with Matthew Forde.
They will be replacing injured Akeal Hosein, Gudakesh Motie and Ramon Simmonds from the squad that played in Bangladesh last month.
Shai Hope’s side suffered a 3-1 defeat in the T20I series in the West Indies tour of New Zealand 2025 and will be aiming for a win in the ODI series.
John Campbell replaced Brandon King from the Bangladesh series, who had scores of 44, 0 and 18 in the series where they lost 2-1.
Campbell has been recalled after his brilliant performance in red-ball cricket, including an impressive century in the second test against India in Delhi last month.
He was Jamaica’s leading run-scorer in the Super50 Cup last season, with 278 runs in seven outings at a strike rate of 102.20.
Johann Layne comes after his test debut during the India series last month. Having an impressive form in red-ball cricket, he has only 12 List-A appearances and 13 wickets to show in the format.
Against New Zealand, Laynne will be joining Jayden Seales and Romario Shepherd. Meanwhile, Ackeem Auguste, who made his ODI debut in Bangladesh, kept his spot alongside Keacy Carty and Alick Athanaze in the 15-member squad led by Shai Hope.
New Zealand and the West Indies will play in the opening ODI on November 16 at Hagley Oval, while the second and third ODI will be played on November 19 and 22 at McLean Park and Seddon Park.
Following that, both sides will lock horns in the three-match test series, which will be played between December 02 and 22.
