Franchises will have to submit the retention and release list of their players by 3 pm on 15th November. After this BCCI will send them the list of registered players, from which they will prepare their final shortlist. The final auction pool will be prepared from this list.
Let us tell you that like the mega auction, this auction will not last for two days, rather following the format of mini auction, this mini auction of IPL 2026 will be completed in just one day. Meanwhile, the trading window is also open, which started immediately after the end of IPL 2025. This will continue till a week before the auction and then will start again till a month before the IPL 2026 season. However, as a rule, players bought in the auction cannot be traded.
So far, two big trades have been confirmed, Shardul Thakur has joined Mumbai Indians from Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 2 crore, while West Indies batsman Sherfane Rutherford has been traded from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians for Rs 2.6 crore.
According to reports, there may be more big trade announcements in the coming days. There is talk that there can be a big exchange between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, in which Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran can be sent to Rajasthan Royals and in return Sanju Samson can become a part of Chennai Super Kings.
