Lucknow. One day seminar on the topic “Relevance of Valmiki Ramayana in the present times” under the joint aegis of History Department of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University and History Compilation Committee, Awadh Province. The national seminar was organized on 13 November 2025 at the Atal Auditorium of the University. The seminar covered five important sub-topics—Valmiki Ramayana: Literary sources (epic period), folk life in Valmiki Ramayana, Valmiki Ramayana in Indian cinema and photography, diversity of flora and fauna etc. were discussed in detail by experts and researchers.
The seminar was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Ajay Taneja did it. Sanjay Shriharsh Mishra, National Co-Organization Secretary of All India History Compilation Scheme, was present as the chief guest in the program, and Prof. Sanjay Shriharsh Mishra, Head of the Economics Department of Lucknow University and famous economist, was present as the special guest. Manoj Aggarwal, Registrar of SGPGI Lucknow as a special guest and honored with Vishisht Seva Medal by the President Colonel Varun Vajpayee, Chairperson of the History Compilation Committee of Awadh Province, Prof. Pragya Mishra, and Dr. Anamika Sinha, Regional Deputy Director of IGNOU Lucknow.* Be present. All the distinguished guests shared their experiences and views on the main topic of the seminar.
The program was conducted by Dr. Mukesh Kumar. In the beginning Prof. Poonam Chaudhary introduced the guests. After this, Dr. Manish Kumar** highlighted the main points to the topic. First of all Prof. Pragya Mishra gave detailed information on the purpose and functions of the History Compilation Committee and presented authentic examples to the relevance of Valmiki Ramayana.
after this Pro. Manoj Aggarwal Expressed his views on the usefulness of the subject in the modern context from the economic point of view. Chief guest Sanjay Shriharsh Mishra stressed the need to promote research by describing in detail the primary sources of Valmiki Ramayana, the language usage and the social structure of that era.
At the end of the session Prof. Pragya Mishra presented the vote of thanks, while Dr. Poonam Choudhary expressed gratitude towards all the guests and participants. The program ended with the national anthem. About 200 students and professors from various faculties participated in this seminar. Students presented their ideas and showed active participation in the question and answer session.
