Delhi: The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. Veteran wicketkeeper batsman Jos Buttler will be the captain of the team. Star fast bowler Joffra Archer has returned to the national team after a long injury, while Chris Jordan has also been recalled to the team. This team will face Pakistan in the four-match T20I series starting from May 22 on home soil. Jordan is very experienced in the team, who has played five World Cups so far and has participated in 88 T20I matches and has taken 96 wickets.

Apart from this, Tom Hartley is the only uncapped player in the team. He will be the second specialist spin bowler after veteran leg spinner Adil Rashid. Off-spinner Moeen Ali will also be available for England, while left-handed Ben Duckett has made a place in the team as a back-up batsman. England's top four players for the T20 World Cup (Jos Buttler, Will Jaques, Phil Salt and Jonny Bairstow) have been in great form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024), with three of them scoring centuries, while Salt has scored centuries in 9 innings. Scored 392 runs with four half-centuries.

For your information, let us tell you that veteran all-rounder Ben Stokes withdrew from the selection earlier this month, while star all-rounder Chris Woakes has been dropped from the team. On the other hand, Will Jacques and Tom Hartley will play in an ICC tournament for the first time.

It is noteworthy that the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be played in West Indies and United States of America (UAE) from June 2, in which 20 teams are participating.
