The second match of the 3-match unofficial ODI series between India A and South Africa A was played at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. In this match, the Indian team won in a one-sided manner and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. The first match of the series was also in the name of the Indian team. Hero of the last match, Ruturaj Gaikwad managed to play a match-winning innings in this match also. However, their first bowlers performed brilliantly, especially Nishant Sindhu and Harshit Rana were quite successful.
South Africa A team won the toss in this match and decided to bowl first, which proved wrong. Harshit Rana gave the first blow to the team at the score of 39 runs and this sequence continued. Luan-Dree Pretorius became the victim of Harshit Rana after scoring 21 runs. After this Nishant Sindhu showed Rivaldo Moonsamy the way to the pavilion. Then Harshit Rana destroyed South Africa's innings by dismissing Jordan Harman and MJ Ackerman.
The South African team could play only 30.3 overs and were all out after scoring 132 runs. During this, Nishant Sindhu took maximum 4 wickets. Whereas, Harshit Rana made 3 successes in his name. Prasidh Krishna also managed to take 2 wickets. Apart from these, 1 wicket was in the name of captain Tilak Verma. On the other hand, Rivaldo Moonsamy scored the maximum 33 runs for South Africa. Apart from him, no other player could touch the 30 run mark.
In reply to 133 runs, the Indian team had a very good start. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Abhishek Sharma added 53 runs for the first wicket. Abhishek Sharma played an explosive inning of 32 runs in 22 balls. After this, Rituraj Gaikwad along with Tilak Verma took the team to victory. Rituraj Gaikwad scored unbeaten 68 runs on 83 balls. At the same time, Tilak Verma returned unbeaten after scoring 29 runs on 62 balls. Gaikwad had played an innings of 117 runs in the last match also.
