Delhi: Indian spinners performed brilliantly in the Kolkata Test, but the batsmen remained under pressure and Team India lost by 30 runs. After this defeat, the pitch of Eden Gardens is now under question. The team got the pitch it wanted, but the match ended in three days and India lost the match. Earlier, India had also lost 0-3 at home against New Zealand.
Harbhajan raised questions on the pitch
Now many questions are being raised regarding the pitch of Eden Gardens. Harbhajan Singh also gave his opinion and said that Test cricket is completely dead. Harbhajan told that the matches in England were great, both the pitch and the game were good there, but the Kolkata pitch was bad.
Harbhajan said, “The balls were turning badly on this pitch. The batsmen were not able to understand. No matter how good the technique was, even Sachin or Virat could not survive on this pitch. If the ball goes up, the other one stays down. Instead of skill, the pitch was deciding everything.”
India suffered a crushing defeat
After losing the toss, India first restricted South Africa to 159 runs, in which fast bowler Bumrah took 5 wickets. India again scored 189 runs.
