After losing the five-match T20I series against New Zealand 3-1, the West Indies have announced their squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series. Shai Hope will lead the 15-member team. While opener John Campbell returns to the team after six years.

John Campbell performed brilliantly in the Test series against India, where he scored a century. His consistent performances for Jamaica in domestic cricket have also paved the way for his return to the West Indies team. The 32-year-old has scored 248 runs in six ODIs, with a best of 179. He last played in an ODI against Ireland in May 2019.

Brandon King dropped from the squad.

Campbell could open the innings in place of Brandon King, who has been dropped after a disappointing T20I series against New Zealand.

Fast bowler Johan Layne and all-rounder Shamar Springer have earned their maiden ODI call-ups. Layne, who made his Test debut against India, has taken 13 wickets in 12 List A matches.

The West Indies ODI squad includes pacers Layne, Springer, Ford, Justin Greaves, Jayden Seals, and Romario Shepherd. Regular bowlers Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Jediah Blades, and Raymon Simmonds were ruled out due to injuries, while spinners Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie also missed selection. Akeem Auguste, Keesee Carty, and Alick Athanaze have retained their spots in the squad.
