Siddharthnagar. A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Lotan Kotwali area. A husband crossed all limits of cruelty and brutally beat his wife to death. Due to beating with sticks and shoes, the woman’s face became swollen and black and one of her hands was also broken. The allegation is also that the accused husband caused deep injury to the woman’s private parts with a stick, after which her condition became critical. The victim is not even able to speak or walk.

The seriously injured woman was first taken to Lotan CHC, from where she was referred to the district hospital and later to Gorakhpur Medical College when her condition deteriorated. At present he is under treatment there and is said to be in an unconscious state.

It is being told that the woman is originally a resident of Kolhui police station area of ​​Maharajganj district. Her marriage took place in a village in Lotan area of ​​Siddharthnagar district. According to family members, the accused husband used to beat and torture her every day. Fed up with the harassment, she had gone to her maternal home some time ago, but returned to her in-laws’ house on November 16 after a reconciliation between the family.

The victim’s brother alleged that the very next day of her return—on the night of 17 November—the husband again showed cruelty and beat her with sticks, shoes and slapped her, due to which she was seriously injured.

On the complaint of the victim’s brother, the police have registered a case against the accused husband under section 308.
ASP Prashant Kumar Prasad said that the investigation of the case is going on and police teams are raiding to arrest the accused.
