A solid 4-wicket victory at Hamilton has secured a 3-0 clean sweep for New Zealand in the ODI series against West Indies, extending a dominant home run, securing 11 consecutive bilateral ODI series wins.
The Blackcaps have been successful in the white ball series of the West Indies tour of New Zealand 2025, securing a 3-1 win in the T20I series and a clean sweep in the ODI series.
West Indies, who bowled out for 161 runs after choosing to bat in the 37th over. Matt Henry led New Zealand bowlers, quickening the demolition with 4/43 spells, striking twice in the fifth over to remove Ackeem Auguste and Keacy Carty.
Kyle Jamieson then went around the wicket and used the extra bounce at Seddon Park to have John Campbell dismissal for 26.
Shai Hope and Sherfane Rutherford did tried to anchor the innings before Roston Chase scoring 38 runs off 51 deliveries.
With Justin Greaves and Matthew Forde dismissal, West Indies lost 7 wickets for 95 runs. Shamar Springer and Khary Pierre added 12 and 22 runs to scoreboard as West Indies lost all 10 wickets to score for 161 runs.
Matt Henry bagged four wickets while Jacob Duffy And Mitchell Santner had two wickets each their spells.
Chasing the target, the New Zealand openers Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra couldn’t give explosive start as they got dismissed for 11 and 4 runs.
Will Young who came at No.3 also get a start as Forde dismissed him for 3 runs Chapman went on to anchor the innings.
Forging partnerships with Tom Latham and Michael Bracewell, Chapman went on to score inning before being dismissed for 64 runs.
After then, Michael Bracewell remained unbeaten 40* runs guiding the side to secure victory in the 31st over as New Zealand secured 4 wicket victory.
Matthew Forde and Jayden Seales picked two wickets each while Shamar Springer and Roston Chase concluded with 1 wicket tally.
Matt Henry was named as the player of the Match. “We’ve been playing some really good cricket. We’ve been doing some good stuff in key moments and that’s got us over the lines. Everyone has been stepping up and that’s been great.”
“It was quite a slow surface, looked a bit different to usual. It’s a small ground so you need to keep taking wickets to keep teams under pressure. Thankfully we were able to do that due to an all-round bowling performance. Looking forward to getting into the whites and the Test series,” concluded Chapman.
Kyle Jamieson was named the Player of the series. With the end of ODI series, all the focus will shift on test series which is set to begin on December 02 at Hagley Oval.
