Mayank Yadav was injured again during IPL 2024 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians. He couldn’t complete his spell and left the field after dismissing Mohammad Nabi on the first ball of his fourth over. There is a possibility of him missing the remaining part of the 17th season.
With six wickets from the two games against Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he impressed everyone. The young speedster was also named the Player of the Match in both contests.
The Board of Control for Cricket in the Indian (BCCI) is planning to offer him a fast bowling contract. Earlier, Umran Malik, Yash Dayal, Akash Deep and Vyshak Vijaykumar were given the fast bowling contracts by the apex body of the Indian cricket.
Under this contract, the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru will manage Mayank’s progress.
“He will be offered a contract by the BCCI. The medical staff at the NCA will take care of his injury management to ensure he is kept fit. The team management is keeping an eye on him and will include the pacer in their plans after he recovers from the lastest injury setback,” a BCCI source said.
