Lucknow: Former Indian team captain Virat Kohli is counted among the great players. He has scored a lot of runs in all formats of cricket and has proved his mettle. However, meanwhile, former veteran all-rounder Irfan Pathan has compared the 22-year-old player with Virat and believes that he can make a name for himself in all three formats of cricket in the future like Kohli. Let us tell you that Virat is such a player who has always worked on his batting shortcomings and he is the best batsman in the world today.
Irfan feels that young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal can also become a better player in all three formats like Kohli. Jaiswal just has to work on some of his shortcomings and after that he can perform well consistently. Actually, currently Yashasvi is playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 and after failing in the first few matches, he has made a tremendous comeback. After this, during a conversation on Star Sports, Pathan gave a big statement.

He said, “When Yashasvi Jaiswal came to bat in the beginning of this season, he used to try to hit the ball hard and he had to pay a heavy price for it. However, after this he started working on his mistakes and now runs are coming from his bat.
The cricketer turned commentator further said that “Jaiswal will become an excellent player in all three formats like Virat Kohli. Virat became a great player because he always worked on his shortcomings. Yashasvi is also following exactly the same path. He has made his debut for India in Test cricket and T-20I cricket but has not been able to play ODI cricket yet. I think Yashasvi will become a great player in all three formats.”
Yashasvi Jaiswal's performance in IPL 2024
If we talk about the left-handed batsman, initially runs were not coming from his bat in IPL 2024. He was getting a good start but was not able to convert it into a big score. However, during a match played against Mumbai Indians, he made a brilliant comeback by scoring a century. This season, the 22-year-old has played a total of 10 matches so far, in which he has scored 316 runs at an average of 35.11 and strike rate of 157.21. During this period, one century and one half-century have come from his bat.
