Abhinav Tejrana has been one of the most compelling stories in Indian domestic cricket this season, and he now enters the IPL 2026 auction as an uncapped Indian batter listed at a base price of Rs 30 lakh. The 24-year-old, originally from Delhi, has emerged as the backbone of Goa’s top order in the Ranji Trophy, delivering numbers and temperament that have forced franchises to take notice.

Batting at No. 3, Tejrana has piled up 651 runs in just eight inningsincluding a double century on debut against Chandigarhtwo more hundreds versus Punjab and Saurashtra, and a gritty unbeaten 73 against Karnataka that saved a match under pressure. His consistency across conditions has made him one of the standout performers of the domestic season.

What makes his journey remarkable is the path that brought him here. A former Delhi U-19 cricketer, Tejrana found himself sidelined by DDCA selectors and even contemplated quitting in 2021. His father’s encouragement kept him going, and by 2022 he relocated to Goa—partly to look after a family guest house, but also to rebuild his cricket career.

Starting from local leagues and state trials, he worked his way into Goa’s setup, played U-23 cricket, and finally broke through into the Ranji Trophy team—where he has dominated in his debut season.

A technically sound top-order batter with the hunger to grind long innings, Tejrana brings form, maturity, and a compelling backstory into the IPL 2026 auction. With franchises exploring high-value uncapped options at the Rs 30 lakh tier, his rise makes him a name firmly on the radar.
