Ayodhya : Dr. Ramvilas Das Vedanti, the leading saint of the Ram Mandir movement and former MP, passed away this morning at the age of 75. He had reached Rewa in Madhya Pradesh from Delhi on 10 December, where his Ramkatha was going on. After falling ill, he was undergoing treatment there for the last two days. The plane reached Delhi this morning, but could not land due to fog.
Ramvilas Das, the Mahant of Hanumangarhi and disciple of Ram temple savior Mahant Abhiram Das, lived in Vedanti Hindu Dham Nayaghat. He also has an ashram named Vashishtha Bhavan. He recited Ramkatha for many decades in front of Ramlala and Hanumangarhi. He was also a renowned scholar of Sanskrit.
Vedanti, who was a member of Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, was also elected MP on BJP ticket. The information about the demise (death) of the famous lecturer of Ramkatha, Dr. Ramvilas Vedanti was given by his successor Mahant Raghavesh Das Vedanti. He told that Maharaj ji’s mortal remains are being brought to Ayodhya today.
