Lionel Messi India Tour: Lionel Messi, one of the world’s greatest footballers, reached Delhi after Kolkata, Hyderabad and Mumbai under the ‘GOAT Tour to India 2025’. During this, Messi participated in the program organized at Arun Jaitley Stadium on 15 December (Monday). The stadium was completely filled to see Messi and Messi himself seemed overwhelmed by the love of the fans. Argentina’s star footballer Rodrigo de Paul and Uruguay’s legend Luis Suarez were also present with him.
At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Messi met International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Jay Shah, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) President Rohan Jaitley. On this occasion, Jay Shah presented the number-10 jersey of the Indian cricket team to Messi. At the same time, Luis Suarez was given number-9 jersey and Rodrigo De Paul was given number-7 jersey.
Lionel Messi was also presented a cricket bat by the ICC Chairman, which had signatures of Indian cricketers. Making the occasion even more special, Jay Shah invited Messi to the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 and also gifted him a ticket for the India vs USA match.
Lionel Messi said, “I already knew that we get a lot of love in India, but feeling it ourselves was a completely different experience. Whatever you guys did for us in these few days was astonishing, it was nothing less than madness. Thank you once again for all your love. We will definitely come to India again, maybe to play a match or on some other occasion. But it is certain that we will definitely come again.”
Messi was also seen playing football with the young players present on the field, who were probably talented players from a football academy. Luis Suarez and Rodrigo De Paul also supported Messi. There was an atmosphere of excitement and happiness in the Arun Jaitley Stadium while Messi was playing football. Apart from this, Messi met the young players of Minerva Academy and also posed for photographs with them.
