Sarthak Ranjan IPL 2026 Auction: Kolkata Knight Riders spent heavily on big stars in the mini auction of IPL 2026 in Abu Dhabi. The three-time champion team, which bought famous players like Cameron Green and Mathisha Pathirana with expensive bids, also bought Sarthak Ranjan, son of Bihar's Purnia MP Pappu Yadav. Sarthak Ranjan plays for Delhi in domestic cricket and always remains in the news due to his batting.

Delhi batsman Sarthak Ranjan was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders at the base price of only Rs 30 lakh. 29 year old Sarthak Ranjan is the son of famous politician of Bihar Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav. When the name of this right-handed batsman, who plays in Delhi's domestic cricket, came up in the auction, no other team bid and KKR easily added him to their team.

Sarthak Ranjan has rarely been seen playing for Delhi in all formats in domestic cricket, but recently he performed amazingly in the Delhi Premier League 2025. He was the second highest run scorer in the tournament. He scored 449 runs in 9 innings, which included 21 sixes. His average was 56.12 while his strike rate was 146.73, which is considered a strong performance in T20 cricket. A total of 5 batsmen scored centuries in DPL 2025, one of which was Sarthak Ranjan. Apart from that, he was the fourth batsman to hit the most number of sixes in the league.

Sarthak made his debut for Delhi in 2016. But he has not got much opportunities in domestic cricket. Sarthak Ranjan has played only 2 First Class, 4 List A and 5 T20 matches so far. He has scored 28 runs in first class, 105 runs in List A and 66 runs in T20. After the year 2024, he has not played any match for Delhi.
