Mathura/Agra: A major accident took place on Yamuna Expressway on Tuesday morning. Due to dense fog, 7 buses and 3 cars collided. Due to this, a huge fire broke out in the vehicles. 13 people have died in the accident. At the same time, more than 70 people are burnt and injured. Due to the accident, there was a 3-4 km long jam at the toll plaza of Agra.
This incident happened near milestone number 127 in Baldev police station area of Mathura district. Due to dense fog, 7 buses, a roadway and 4 cars collided. After this, a massive fire broke out in all the vehicles. The buses started burning. On receiving information about the accident, district officials, fire brigade and police teams reached the spot.
CM Yogi took cognizance of the matter: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the road accident in Mathura district. CM Yogi has expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased. The Chief Minister has instructed the officials to immediately reach the spot and expedite the relief work.
Chief Minister Yogi has announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand to the injured.
What did the District Magistrate tell: District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh said that a tragic road accident took place on Tuesday morning at Milestone No. 127 of Yamuna Express of Baldev police station area. In this, four small vehicles including 7 private buses and one government roadways collided with each other. Due to this a fire broke out.
So far 13 people have died due to vehicle fire. 70 people are seriously injured. The injured are being treated. The unidentified bodies will be identified through DNA. Magistrate inquiry has been ordered into the entire matter.
Identification will be done through DNA: Chief Medical Officer Radha Vallabh said that the deceased will be identified only after DNA test is done. A team of doctors has been formed for post-mortem. Further action is being taken.
What does the Superintendent of Police say: Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar said that on Tuesday morning, a bus going from Ayodhya to Delhi collided on Yamuna Expressway in Baldev police station area due to dense fog. After this the buses caught fire.
On receiving information about the incident, the fire was brought under control by the officials and fire brigade. Relief and rescue operations have been completed. The burnt vehicles have been removed from the spot. Traffic has been started on the expressway after barricading.
He said that prima facie the cause of the accident seems to be dense fog. Due to low visibility, 7 buses, 1 roadways and 4 small vehicles collided, which resulted in fire and this accident.
List of injured released: Mathura district administration has released the preliminary list of injured. The names of the injured are BK Sharma 77 years, Kishan Singh 50 years, Shalu 30 years, Ajay Kumar 32 years, Priyanka 27 years, Dev Rai 45 years, Shrikant Kumari 30 years, Ashish Srivastava 28 years, Usman 50 years, Aman Yadav 28 years, Mukan Khan 26 years, Suman Yadav 25 years, Pawan Kumar 30 years, Mubeen Khan 25 years, Ghanshyam covers 40 years.
20 ambulances reached the spot: Eyewitnesses said that as soon as the fire broke out, the buses started burning with loud noise. There was shouting and screaming from the passengers sitting in the bus. People jumped from the windows of buses to save their lives.
On receiving the information, the fire brigade team reached the spot and started the work of extinguishing the fire in the buses. Within a short time, about 20 ambulances also arrived, from which the injured and burnt people were admitted to the hospital.

3 km long jam on Yamuna Expressway: After the accident on Yamuna Expressway, a long queue of vehicles formed at Khandauli toll plaza in Agra district. There was a jam about three to four kilometers long. Due to this the passengers had to face problems.
