India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal was admitted to hospital on December 16 after suffering intense stomach cramps during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025–26 clash between Mumbai and Rajasthan in Pune. He was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis, received intravenous treatment, and underwent further tests, including ultrasound and CT scans, to assess his condition.
Doctors have recommended that left-handed batter Yashasvi Jaiswal continue his medication and get sufficient rest. Updates on his participation in upcoming matches will follow as he recovers.
Jaiswal scored 15 runs off 16 balls before being dismissed by Ashok Sharma. He experienced stomach cramps during his innings, which worsened after the match, necessitating medical care. The BCCI has not yet provided an official statement on his fitness.
Yashasvi Jaiswal played a brilliant innings to guide Mumbai past Haryana’s 234, scoring 101 off 50 balls with 16 fours and a six. He shared a 53-run opening stand with Ajinkya Rahane and an 88-run second-wicket partnership with Sarfaraz Khan. The century sends a strong signal to selectors as Shubman Gill struggles at the top for India.
Jaiswal last featured in T20Is in 2024 against Sri Lanka and was part of India’s T20 World Cup 2024-winning squad, though he did not play any matches during the tournament.
Recently, he scored his maiden ODI century against South Africa in Visakhapatnam, remaining unbeaten on 116 off 121 balls. His innings, which included 12 fours and two sixes, helped India chase 271 in 39.5 overs with a commanding finish.
