IND vs SA 4th T20: Fourth T20 canceled due to dense fog in Lucknow, toss could not even be held

The fourth T20 match between India and South Africa was canceled without starting. Due to heavy fog in Lucknow, even the toss of this match could not be held and the umpires decided to cancel the match. This match was to be played on Wednesday 17th December at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, but in the evening, a deep fog covered the city. Due to this, the umpires postponed the match even before it started.

But after this, every attempt failed and after waiting for 3 hours, the decision was taken to cancel the match.

In this match, the toss was to be held at 6.30 pm but even before that the situation started becoming serious, due to which both the umpires postponed the toss for 20 minutes. Then at around 6.50 pm the umpire came again and took stock of the situation. But even at this time the situation was not completely resolved. Due to this the umpires postponed it till 7:30 pm. Then this sequence was repeated every half hour. Finally at 9:25 the umpires, who came to inspect for the sixth time, decided to cancel the match.
