Shivang Kumar's cricket journey started from his home itself. His father Praveen Kumar, who is working as TTE in Railways, was once a part of the Bengal Ranji team. Father's experience and discipline proved to be Shivang's biggest asset. There was already an atmosphere of cricket in the family, due to which Shivang kept getting inspiration. Father says that Shivang showed passion for cricket since childhood and always entered the field with full dedication. As he grew older, his commitment and hard work made it easier for him to reach the national level.
The foundation of Shivang's real training was laid at MPS Cricket Academy, where he learned the nuances of cricket from coach Danish Mirza. Coach Danish says that Shivang is a player who is never afraid of failure. He returns stronger after learning from his mistakes. In 2015, he moved to Madhya Pradesh and performed strongly despite limited resources. Continuous practice, fitness and dedication took him to the senior team of Madhya Pradesh and today the same determination has got him a place in the IPL.
