The fourth T20 match between India and South Africa to be played at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow was canceled due to dense fog. The match was to start at 7 pm Indian time, but due to extremely poor visibility on the field, the umpires took this decision after six consecutive inspections. The first inspection was done at 6:50, followed by 7:30, 8:00, 8:30 and 9:00 if the situation did not improve and finally the match was abandoned at 9:25.

At present the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Lucknow is more than 400, which is considered very poor. Due to this the players had to face difficult conditions on the field.

Team India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya and other players were also seen wearing masks. Now the last and decisive match of this series will be played on 19th December in Ahmedabad.
