J&K bowling all-rounder Auqib Nabi went to Delhi Capitals for Rs. 8.40 crore, a whopping 28 times his base price of Rs. 30 lakh. This will be Nabi’s maiden stint in the IPL.

Delhi Capitals opened the bidding for Nabi at his base price of Rs. 30 lakh and stayed in control as the price crossed Rs. 1 crore, forcing Rajasthan Royals to drop out early. Royal Challengers Bengaluru then entered at Rs. 1.1 crore, repeatedly trading incremental bids with DC as the value climbed past Rs. 2 crore.

Sunrisers Hyderabad briefly joined at Rs. 2.2 crore, but Delhi held firm through successive raises, eventually outlasting all challengers to secure Nabi at Rs. 8.40 crore.

Nabi, 29, can swing the new ball and has grown into an effective operator with the old one.

He has impressed in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, building on a standout start to the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy, where he was the only seamer among the top five wicket-takers in the first half of the season.

His 29 wickets in nine innings included three five-fors and a remarkable 7 for 24 against Rajasthan, a spell that helped Jammu and Kashmir secure a place in the knockouts.
