Delhi: There is still time left for the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, but Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have intensified their preparations. The team is working on a special plan with the intention of winning the IPL title for the first time. Under this, some Indian players from Lucknow will soon be seen practicing in a foreign T20 league.
LSG will send its bowlers in SA20
According to a report, Lucknow Super Giants is planning to send its domestic fast bowlers to South Africa. These players will train there with Durban Super Giants. Durban Super Giants is the sister team of Lucknow, which plays in the SA20 league. This league is starting from 26th December.
Initially the names of Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan are included in this scheme. Apart from this, Naman Tiwari can also join this group. These players can leave for South Africa next week. Since these players are neither under the central contract of BCCI nor playing with any state team, the franchise has taken permission from BCCI.
The purpose of this entire plan is to make the players match fit. Especially Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan have been struggling with injuries for a long time. Training can make it easier for them to regain their fitness and rhythm. The team management wants the bowlers to be fully prepared before IPL 2026.
LSG has recently included many players in the team. At the same time, experienced players like Rishabh Pant, Nicholas Pooran, Mitchell Marsh and Mohammed Shami are already part of the team. Now it remains to be seen how much this special preparation benefits Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026.
