INDW vs SLW 2nd T20I Playing 11: Harmanpreet Kaur-led India women will square off against Chamari Athapaththu-led Sri Lanka in the 2nd T20I match on December 23 at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.
The hosts secured a win in the opener match of the Sri Lanka Women’s tour of India 2025 after a solid knock from Jemimah Rodrigues. Harmanpreet Kaur’s side will be aiming to seal the series with a win in 2nd game, while the visitors will be aiming to secure a win and level the series.
Sri Lanka and India women have played on 27 T20Is, where India has a dominating win percentage with 21 wins, while Sri Lanka has only 5 wins, and one game ended with no result.
India won the toss and opted to bowl. Speaking on the toss, Harmanpreet Kaur said, “This is something that I am not used to. Winning tosses is not my cup of tea. We are looking to bowl first. Deepti is not well, so Sneh Rana takes her place. It was a very good cricket match from our end. We want to go with the same approach.”
Meanwhile, Chamari Athapaththu said, “We are going with the same XI. I am still confident in my team, we’ve backed a few youngsters and want to give them more opportunities.”
“The key for us is to play positive cricket in the middle overs. In the last game we played a few shots behind square. Today, we want to play straighter – focus more on long-on and long-off, play to our strengths and build partnerships. Hopefully, our batters step up today,” concluded Athapaththu.
