NEW DELHI: Bihar made history in their opening Vijay Hazare Trophy match, posting the highest ever List A team total of 574 for six against Arunachal Pradesh.
The innings was a masterclass in aggressive batting, powered by three sensational centuries that left the opposition reeling.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi led the charge with a blistering 190 off just 84 balls, smashing 16 fours and 15 sixes at a strike rate of 226.19.
Ayush Loharuka added 116 from 56 balls, hitting 11 fours and eight sixes, while captain Sakibul Gani finished unbeaten on 128 off 40 deliveries, belting 10 fours and 12 sixes.
Together, they ensured Bihar never allowed the bowlers to settle and kept the scoreboard ticking at an extraordinary pace.
It was a day to forget for Arunachal Pradesh bowlers. TNR Mohith and Techi Neri were the only ones to make any impact, taking two wickets each, while the rest of the attack was hammered for runs.
Every bowler faced relentless hitting and struggled to contain the batters, making it one of the most dominant batting performances in domestic cricket history.
Bihar’s record-breaking total has set a new benchmark in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and showcased the sheer firepower of their top-order batsmen.
