Vijay Hazare Trophy: On the very first day of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, fans got to see many matches, but what the Karnataka team did against Jharkhand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad was no less than a miracle. This was a high scoring one, where fans got to see a lot of fours and sixes. But Jharkhand, captained by Ishan Kishan, had to face defeat despite making a big score. In this match for Karnataka, a match winning inning was seen from young batsman Devdutt Padikkal.

Ishaan Kishan's century turned upside down

In this match, Karnataka won the toss and decided to bowl first, but strong batting was seen from Jharkhand. Jharkhand scored 412 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs. During this period, captain Ishan Kishan scored the maximum of 125 runs. Whereas, Virat Singh played an explosive inning of 88 runs. Shikhar Mohan also gave a good start to the team by scoring 44 runs.

On the other hand, from Karnataka, Abhilash Shetty took maximum 7 wickets, but he also spent 72 runs in 10 overs. Apart from them, Vidyadhar Patil and Shreyas Gopal achieved 2 successes each.

Karnataka team won on the strength of Devdutt Padikkal

Karnataka had a very strong start while chasing the target. The pair of Mayank Agarwal and Devdutt Padikkal scored a lot of runs and made a partnership of 114 runs for the first wicket. During this, Mayank Agarwal returned to the pavilion after scoring 54 runs. But Devdutt Padikkal held one end and rained runs.

Karnataka team achieved this target in 47.3 overs at the loss of only 5 wickets. That is, in this ODI match, both the teams together scored a total of 825 runs, which is very less seen in a 50-50 over match.
