Bihar produced a record-smashing innings in the Plate Group of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy against Arunachal Pradesh, posting a mammoth 574/6 in 50 overs. They went berserk with the bat after winning the toss at the JSCA Oval Ground in Ranchi on December 24.
Bihar eclipsed the previous List A record of 506/2 set by Tamil Nadu in 2022 against the same opposition in the same competition. There were three centurions from the side, including batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, wicketkeeper-batter Ayush Loharuka and skipper Sakibul Gani.
Highest team totals in List A cricket:
| Team | Opposition | Venue | Year | Score |
| Bihar | Arunachal Pradesh | Ranchi | 2025 | 574/6 |
| Tamil Nadu | Arunachal Pradesh | Bengaluru | 2022 | 506/2 |
| England | Netherlands | Amstelveen | 2022 | 498/4 |
| Surrey | Gloucestershire | The Oval | 2017 | 496/4 |

Suryavanshi’s blistering 84-ball 190-run knock made him the youngest centurion in List A cricket, aged 14 years and 272 days. Gani, on the other hand, reached his ton in just 32 deliveries. This made him the fastest Indian centurion in the 50-over format. Gani ended up unbeaten on 128 off 40 deliveries.
Suryavanshi, Loharuka and Gani aggregated 434 runs out of Bihar's eventual total of 574. The fielding team conceded 18 extras. Dheeraj Antin was the most economical bowler from Sikkim. He conceded 81 runs in his nine overs. The opening duo of Mibom Mosu and Suryansh Singh conceded a total of 214 runs in 18 overs. They bowled nine overs apiece.
Chasing an improbable 575-run target, Arunachal Pradesh were dismissed for a paltry 177, losing the contest by a record margin of 397 runs. Akash Raj and Suraj Kashyap bagged three wickets each while Hiamnshu Tiwari and Shabbir Khan got two and one respectively in an outrightly dominating performance with the ball following the record-breaking outing with the bat.
