Vijay Hazare Trophy: In the first match of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, former Team India captain Rohit Sharma did wonders. Rohit, who entered this domestic ODI tournament after almost seven years, performed brilliantly while opening for Mumbai against Sikkim. He scored a century in just 62 balls and played an explosive inning of 155 runs in a total of 94 balls. During this, Rohit hit 18 fours and 9 sixes and led his team to victory in a one-sided manner.
Batting first, Sikkim had scored 236 runs in 50 overs, but this target proved to be small in front of Rohit's aggressive batting. Mumbai achieved this target in just 30.3 overs and registered a big win by 8 wickets. For this match winning innings of Rohit, he was chosen player of the match. He was given a check of Rs 10,000 as reward money. This return of Rohit is also special because he was not playing domestic tournaments for a long time due to his busy schedule in international cricket. But looking at his form it is clear that 'Hitman' is still in his old form.
But, an interesting comparison of the reward of Rs 10,000 received by Rohit with that of Team India's other legend Virat Kohli is being made. Actually, Virat is famous for his fitness and he drinks premium quality water. According to reports, his choice is Evian Natural Spring Water from France, which is rich in minerals and is alkaline in nature. The price of this water in India is said to be around Rs 4000 per liter. In comparison, fans are jokingly saying that Virat might not be able to buy even three bottles of water with Rohit's prize money. This is just a small talk, which highlights the luxury lifestyle and dedication towards fitness of both the stars.
Virat Kohli's comeback in Vijay Hazare Trophy was also quite memorable. Virat Kohli came to play in this tournament after 15 years and scored a brilliant century. In the match played against Andhra Pradesh, Virat Kohli played an inning of 131 runs in 101 balls for Delhi, which included 14 fours and 3 sixes. Due to which Delhi achieved the target of 299 runs in 37.4 overs.
