The tournament is starting from 26th December and now due to lack of sponsors, Triangle Service Limited has given up the ownership rights of the team.

According to ESPNcricinfo, BPL chairman Iftekhar Rahman said, 'They have given the letter to BCB three hours ago, so we have officially taken over the team. No one had any idea of ​​this. The franchise has written in the letter that due to media reports they are not able to get sponsors for the team. This season we have adopted a strict stance regarding honesty and payment of players. We don't want a situation like the Rajshahi franchise last year.

Problems in BPL since last year

The BPL's inaugural season, which began in 2012, faced several payment-related problems, which improved between 2016 and 2019, but these problems resurfaced in the last season. The most serious issue came to light when the players of Darbar Rajshahi boycotted a practice session and a match over payments including daily allowances and hotel bills, which had to be resolved by the government.
