Additional Sessions Judge sentenced four accused to life imprisonment

Ghazipur. The court of Additional Sessions Judge Ali Raza on Wednesday convicted four accused in the case of culpable homicide and sentenced them to life imprisonment. Besides, each has been punished with a fine of Rs 14,000 each. Besides, an order has been given to pay 50 percent of the fine amount to the plaintiff.

According to the prosecution, Shesha Avtar Singh, resident of Hansrajpur village, Shadiabad police station, filed a complaint. Told that on May 14, 2008, at 3 pm, talks were going on with Pattidar Vindhyachal Singh regarding the land dispute. Meanwhile, his wife Sheela Singh, his sons Brijesh and Vicky Singh, Balwant Singh and their daughters Archana Singh, Bandana Singh attacked the plaintiff with iron rods and sticks. Due to which the plaintiff’s uncle Shriram Singh and Laxman Avtaar were injured. The village people took him to the hospital. From where he was sent to Varanasi for treatment.

Shriram Singh died on the second day of treatment and Laxman Avtaar died during treatment after about 1 month and 23 days. On the information of the plaintiff, a case was registered against the accused and after investigation, the police presented the charge sheet in the court against Vindhyachal Singh, Shila Singh, Brijesh Singh, Vandana Singh, Archana Singh and Balwant alias Ranjeet. During the hearing, accused Archana Singh died and one accused Balwant alias Ranjit Kishore was found to be a delinquent. Her letter was sent to the Juvenile Justice Board. The trial of the remaining accused began. On behalf of the prosecution, Assistant Government Advocate Jaiprakash Singh presented a total of 11 witnesses. After hearing the arguments from both sides, the court sentenced Vindhyachal Singh, Shila, Brijesh and Vandana and sent the accused to jail.
