In this match, both the teams were all out on the very first day and a total of 20 wickets fell. The match is being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where the grass and seam movement on the pitch caused a lot of trouble to the batsmen.
Australia all out at 152
England won the toss and decided to bowl first. He made a good start in the morning session by taking four wickets. But, after lunch, Australia’s batting also disintegrated. The ball was continuously seaming and many balls seemed difficult to play.
Australia’s first innings was reduced to 152 runs. Michael Neser scored the highest score of 35 runs and took the team to a respectable score. For England, Josh Tong bowled brilliantly and took five wickets. Gus Atkinson also bowled tightly.
England’s first innings was limited to 110
