ODI format

Keeping in view the T20 World Cup next year, there could not be many ODI matches in 2025, the Indian team played only 14 matches this year including the Champions Trophy. Team India’s winning captain Rohit Sharma was removed from the captaincy after his unbeaten performance in the Champions Trophy. After Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill was declared the new captain on the Australia tour.

India did face Hall on the Australia tour, but after that it also defeated South Africa in the ODI series at the end of the year. In the 14 ODI matches played this year, India showed strong performance and won 11 matches and lost only 3 matches. The Indian team registered 78.17 percent victory.

T20 International Format

The Indian cricket team has proved to be the king in T20 International cricket for some time now. In the World Cup of this format, defending champion Team India had a tremendous performance in 2025 also. India, under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, showed unmatched performance this year and won consecutive wins. After starting with a win in the home T20 series against England, Team India also won the crown in the Asia Cup.

After this, it maintained its dominance by defeating Australia and South Africa in the T20 series. Throughout the year, India won 16 out of 21 T20 International matches and lost only 3 matches and 2 matches were spoiled by rain.
