Salman Khan IPL: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has turned 60. Even at this stage of his age, his charisma remains intact. Be it Salman's films or Bigg Boss's anchoring, fans like him a lot. But do you know that Salman also got an offer to become the owner of an IPL team but he did not accept it. Salman had recently revealed this in an event. Salman had told that in the year 2008, the then IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi had offered him to buy the IPL team but he refused it.

Shahrukh-Shilpa bought team, Salman refused

When Lalit Modi offered Bollywood stars to buy IPL team, Shahrukh Khan and Shilpa Shetty accepted it. Shahrukh Khan bought Kolkata Knight Riders, he is still its owner. Whereas Shilpa Shetty had bought stake in Rajasthan Royals. Preity Zinta invested money in Punjab Kings, but Salman denied it. He said, 'IPL was offered at that time, but was not taken. It is not that we are regretting, we are happy. Now we are too old for IPL.

Salman Khan meant that due to his age and busy schedule, he cannot handle a team with a big and long commitment like IPL. Salman clearly said that he has no regrets on this decision. He is happy that he did not enter IPL, because IPL has now become very big and competitive. Salman said that he likes cricket but not as an owner but as a fan.

Reports of buying teams surfaced several times

In 2009, a report came out about Salman Khan that he wanted to bid for a new IPL team. His name also came up when Deccan Chargers team was sold in 2012 but he clearly denied it by tweeting. Sometimes there were rumors that it was not taken due to rivalry with SRK, but Salman denied this too. Let us tell you that Salman has now entered the cricket field but not in IPL but in ISPL T10, in June 2025 he completely bought the Delhi franchise. This is a tennis ball cricket league, which is based on street cricket. Salman said that he wanted a league which was at street level.
