BCCI means the organization that runs cricket in India. BCCI takes every decision related to Indian cricket. BCCI has changed a lot in Indian cricket in the last 25 years. Those changes have also affected the treasury of BCCI. It has become the richest cricket board in the world. BCCI's net worth as on date is estimated to be more than Rs 18000 crore. Cricket boards of other countries are nowhere near it in terms of earnings. It is BCCI's money, due to which its dominance over world cricket is also visible.

There was a surge in earnings due to the arrival of IPL

Now the question is, when did BCCI start becoming rich in the last 25 years? In this journey of BCCI, its decision to launch IPL was revolutionary. The Indian Premier League changed the entire Indian cricket. BCCI gets a lot of revenue due to IPL. BCCI also earns huge income by selling TV and digital media rights of IPL. But, IPL is just a medium. Apart from this, BCCI also earns through various types of sponsorships, which are related to the team and its jersey. Apart from these, income from match tickets is also a source.

How rich has BCCI become from 2017-18 till now?

In the last 25 years (especially in the last few years), there has been a tremendous jump in the earnings of BCCI. According to the information received from different sources, the income of the board has increased 3.34 times from the year 2017-18 to the year 2023-24. BCCI's income which was Rs 2916.67 crore in 2017-18, has now reached Rs 8963 crore in 2025-26.

The total income of BCCI in 2018-19 was Rs 7181.61 crore, which decreased to Rs 4972.43 crore in 2019-20. It further decreased in 2020-21 and the earnings came down to Rs 4735.14 crore.

There may be further increase in earnings

Cricket is changing, its style of playing is changing. In the coming years, some more big changes may be seen in this gentleman's game, due to which there may be another bumper jump in the earnings of BCCI.
