Ruturaj Gaikwad Hundred In Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26: In an exciting match of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, Maharashtra captain Rituraj Gaikwad played a brilliant century against Uttarakhand, took his team out of trouble and gave a strong victory. In this match played in Jaipur, Maharashtra had a very bad start and at one time the team had lost three wickets for 50 runs. In such a situation, Rituraj Gaikwad, who came to bat at number-4, played a memorable inning, which brought the team back into the match and also led to victory.

Rituraj Gaikwad played captaincy innings at a crucial time. He scored 124 runs facing 113 balls. His innings included 12 fours and 3 sixes, due to which Maharashtra team managed to score a strong score of 331 at the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs. This innings of Rituraj proved to be a lifeline for the team and he batted till the end and took the team to a big total. Apart from Rituraj Gaikwad, Satyajit Bachhav also played a strong inning of 56 runs and Ramakrishna Ghosh contributed 47 runs.

Uttarakhand's batting was nothing special in reply to this target. Uttarakhand team collapsed after scoring 202 runs in 43.4 overs. Saurabh Rawat scored the maximum 56 runs for the team. Apart from him, no batsman could even touch the 40-run mark, due to which Maharashtra won the match by 129 runs. For Maharashtra, Rajvardhan Hungergekar and Satyajit Bachhav took maximum 3-3 wickets. Whereas, Ramakrishna Ghosh and Siddhesh Veer got 2 successes each.

Threat to Shreyas Iyer

This century is very special for Ruturaj Gaikwad, because recently he had scored his first international century in the ODI series against South Africa. At the same time, before the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand, this performance has brought good messages for the Indian team. Rituraj Gaikwad has almost confirmed his place for the New Zealand series with this innings. He has played this innings while playing at number four. Which is Shreyas Iyer's number in the Indian ODI team. But Shreyas Iyer is currently out of Team India due to injury.
