A unique incident was witnessed on Saturday, January 10, in the third match of the Women’s Premier League 2026 between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. A ball from Delhi Capitals spinner Sneh Rana surprised everyone on the field when it took three hits before reaching the wicket.
This incident happened on the last ball of the 16th over of Mumbai Indians’ innings. Sneh Rana, who was bowling, bowled the ball on the back-of-length, which left Mumbai captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who was on strike, a bit shocked. The ball reached the wicketkeeper not once but thrice after hitting the pitch. Seeing this strange delivery, Sneh Rana and wicketkeeper Lizelle Lee were also seen smiling.

However, the umpire ruled in favor of the batting team and declared it a no ball. Earlier in such cases the ball was considered a dead ball, but after the change in ICC rules, now such balls are given no ball. Due to this, Mumbai Indians also got the benefit of free hit.
Harmanpreet Kaur tried to play a big shot on the free hit, but Chinelle Henry standing at long on took the catch. The matter of relief was that it was a free hit, so Harmanpreet was not out and the batsmen also completed one run.
Talking about the match, in this match Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues won the toss and chose to bowl first. In reply, Mumbai Indians scored a strong score of 195 runs in the first innings on the basis of brilliant innings of 74 runs by Harmanpreet Kaur and 70 runs by Nate Sciver-Brunt.
