Kanpur: In Sardepur, Ghatampur, the wife interrupted the husband who arrived home after drinking alcohol, saying that there were no vegetables, on which the angry husband killed the pregnant wife and two and a half year old innocent child by cutting them with a knife. After this, he sat near the dead bodies of both of them and kept crying for some time, then ran away. The police had sent both the bodies for post-mortem, the father of the deceased reached the police station and filed a case of murder against the son-in-law. Police teams are busy searching for the accused.

Father said – alcohol became the reason for daughter’s murder

The family members of the deceased Ruby, who reached Ghatampur on Monday, informed the police. Ruby’s father Manoj Kumar told in the case registered with the police that he had married his daughter Ruby with Surendra alias Swami, a resident of Sardepur village in the year 2021, after which when his daughter objected to drinking alcohol, there used to be disputes between the two on a daily basis. She told that late on Sunday night, her daughter Ruby was making rotis at home after preparing dal, when her husband Surendra alias Swami came under the influence of alcohol and asked her to prepare vegetables, the wife told her husband about the absence of vegetables at home and said that the money was for drinking and not for bringing vegetables. Angered by this, Surendra killed his wife Ruby and two and a half year old son Lavans with a wood cutter, after which the accused fled from the spot. The police have registered a case on the father’s complaint and started investigating the incident. Crime Inspector Khurshid Ahmed of Ghatampur police station said that a case has been registered on the father’s complaint and police teams are busy searching for the accused.

The mother said that if the daughter had told anything, she would have called.

Durga Devi, mother of the deceased Ruby, told that she had last talked to her daughter Ruby on January 1 and then on January 3. The mother cried and said that if the daughter had told her something like this, she would have called her to herself, today she would not have to see this day, but the daughter had only told about the absence of vegetables at home, she thought that the son-in-law would bring vegetables in the evening, how did she know that this very thing would take her daughter’s life.

Brother said- Brother-in-law called me and said that your sister killed me.

Deceased Ruby’s brother Dilip told the Ghatampur police that late on Sunday night, his brother-in-law called him on his phone and said that your sister has killed me, after which he disconnected the phone, then when I called, the brother-in-law said that if I had not killed him, your sister would have killed me. After this his phone started saying switched off, after some time the incident was reported by the police.

ACP said – Police teams engaged in search

Ghatampur ACP Krishnakant Yadav said that on the complaint of the deceased’s father, a case has been registered under serious sections and police teams including surveillance have been deployed in search of the accused. Which is raiding the possible hideout. The accused will be arrested soon.
