WPL 2026, RCB vs UPW: Powered by Grace Harris’ 85-run blitz off just 40 balls and Smriti Mandhana’s unbeaten 47 off 32 balls, Royal Challengers Bengaluru got their second win of the Women’s Premier League 2026 season after defeating UP Warriorz by nine wickets (with 47 balls left). RCB chased down the target of 144 in just 12.1 overs, which was the fastest chase for RCB in WPL history.
Earlier, after Mandhana had won the toss and asked Warriorz to bat first, the team needed Deandra Dottin and Deepti Sharma to rescue them with a 93-run partnership for the sixth wicket at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Warriorz were in deep trouble at one stage, going from 39/1 to 50/5 in the span of eight balls. But Dottin and Deepti then took charge, taking the team from 50/5 to 143/5.
Smriti Mandhana’s RCB were hoping to extend their winning start, seizing momentum and building a nice rhythm early on in the Navi Mumbai leg as they prepare for round two. The same will ring in the minds of the UP Warriorz side too,o even if they narrowly missed out on opening their account with two points in the tournament.
Meg Lanning’s side lost their opener during a steep chase of 208 against the Gujarat Giants, ts and though they are taking on the former champions, RCB have often been tested by this particular match-up. The teams have locked horns stimesams previously, with both teams having won three games apiece.
