The seventh match of the Women’s Premier League 2026 was played between UP Warriors and Delhi Capitals on Wednesday (January 14) at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues won the toss and decided to bowl first.

UP Warriors, who came to bat first, had a very poor start and Kiran Navgire was out without opening the account. After this, captain Meg Lanning and Phoebe Litchfield tried to handle the innings and added 43 runs in 35 balls for the second wicket. Phoebe Lichfield scored 27 runs in 20 balls.

After this, Meg Lanning made an important partnership of 85 runs in 56 balls with Harleen Deol for the third wicket. Harleen Deol retired after scoring 47 runs, while Meg Lanning scored a half-century of 54 runs in 38 balls. Thanks to these innings, UP Warriors scored 154 runs.

Chasing the target, Delhi Capitals got a great start from Shefali Verma and Lizelle Lee. There was a strong partnership of 94 runs in 69 balls between the two for the first wicket. Shefali Verma scored 36 runs in 32 balls, while Lizelle Lee scored 67 runs in 44 balls in an aggressive manner, which included 8 fours and 3 sixes.

After this, captain Laura Woolward scored unbeaten 25 runs in 24 balls, while Jemimah Rodrigues added unbeaten 21 runs in 14 balls. The team needed 6 runs in the last over to win, the match went till the last ball and Laura Wolvaardt gave the team victory by hitting a four on the last ball.

For UP Warriors, Deepti Sharma took 2 wickets, while Asha Shobhana got 1 wicket.

The overall result was that Delhi Capitals won by 7 wickets and secured their first 2 points in the table of Women’s Premier League 2026.
