Arshdeep Singh Five Wicket Haul: Team India defeated New Zealand by 46 runs in the last match of the 5-match T20 series, with this the series went to India 4-1. The last match of the series was played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. In this match, Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh performed brilliantly and took his first T20 International five wicket haul. However, the start of the match was very bad for Arshdeep Singh and he proved costly. But he did wonders in the last two overs.

Arshdeep Singh opened his claws

In this match, India batted first and made a strong score of 271 runs in 20 overs. In response to this, New Zealand's start was also explosive. During this period, Arshdeep Singh also proved to be expensive. In the powerplay, 40 runs were scored in his first two overs and only one wicket was taken. But he made a great comeback. He was once again brought to bowl in the 12th over of the innings and he dismissed Rachin Ravindra on the first ball, in the same over Mitchell Santner was also sent to the pavilion. That means Arshdeep took a total of 3 wickets in 3 overs.

After this, Arshdeep Singh completed his fifer by taking two wickets in the 16th over. He dismissed Darryl Mitchell and Kyle Jamieson and opened his claws. He ended the match with 5 wickets for 51 runs in 4 overs. That means he spent only 11 runs in his last 2 overs. He is only the sixth bowler from India to take a five-wicket haul in T20I. This performance of Arshdeep is a big boost for India before the T20 World Cup 2026. Despite proving expensive in the beginning, he bounced back under pressure and showed how useful he is for the team in big matches.

Such was the performance in the series

Arshdeep Singh got a chance to play a total of 4 matches in this series. During this period, he took 8 wickets with an economy rate of 10.50. That means in the last 3 matches he could take only 3 wickets in total. However, due to his opening spell in this match, he became the bowler taking the most wickets in the series. Apart from him, no Indian bowler could take even 5 wickets in this series.
