Scotland opener George Munseylit up the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 with an innings of pure power-hitting, bringing up his half-century in emphatic fashion with a towering six against Italy in their Group C clash at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. 

The left-hander, known for his aggressive approach at the top, was in complete control as he dismantled the Italian bowling attack. Munsey reached his fifty by shuffling across the stumps and hitting a mammoth six over the mid-wicket region off off-spinner Ben Menenti.

Munsey’s knock set the tone for Scotland after they were put in to bat.

Showing a fine balance between controlled strokeplay and brute force, he took on the spinners in the middle overs and ensured the scoreboard kept ticking at a healthy rate. The Scottish side put on a mammoth total of 207 in their 20 overs.
