Finn Allen break Abhishek Sharma Record: Abhishek Sharma's world record in T20 cricket has been broken. This record was broken in the T20 World Cup 2026 match played between New Zealand and UAE. Abhishek Sharma had recently made a world record of completing 5000 runs in the fewest number of balls in T20 cricket, which has now been broken by New Zealand's Finn Allen. Finn Allen played 44 balls less than Abhishek Sharma to complete 5000 runs in T20 cricket.
Abhishek Sharma completed his 5000 runs in T20 cricket in 2898 balls.
When he accomplished this feat, he broke Andre Russell's world record. Russell had scored 5000 runs in T20 cricket on 2942 balls. However, now Finn Allen has gone ahead of Abhishek Sharma in this matter, who has created history by playing 44 balls less. He has created a new world record by completing his 5000 T20 runs in just 2858 balls.In the T20 World Cup 2026 match played on 10 February, New Zealand defeated UAE by 10 wickets.
Playing first, UAE had scored 173 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, New Zealand chased the target of 174 runs in 15.2 overs without losing any wicket. New Zealand's opening pair scored all the runs, in which Tim Seifert remained unbeaten after scoring 89 runs on 42 balls, which included 12 fours and 3 sixes. Whereas Finn Allen scored 84 runs in 50 balls with the help of 5 sixes and 5 fours.During his stormy innings played against UAE, Finn Allen achieved the feat of scoring the fastest 5000 runs in terms of balls in T20 cricket.
Before the match against UAE, Finn Allen was 38 runs away from his target of 5000 runs in T20 cricket. But after scoring 84 runs in that, now he has scored 5046 runs.
